Dunstan Pruden (1907-1974) Was born in Hammersmith London. He moved to the Guild of St
Dominic in Ditchling in the 1930s and was much influenced by Eric Gill and Philip Hagreen.
It was in Ditchling in 1933 that the guilds St Dominic's Press published Prudens book
Silversmithing: Its Principles and Practice in Small Workshops.
For a number of years, commencing in 1934, Pruden was in charge of Silversmithing at the
Brighton School of Art
